Read About and Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Beginning in 1931, the glorified Jesus Christ appeared to Saint Faustina and revealed this image to her, and told her to have it painted. He revealed through it, and through his words taken down in her diary, the vast extent of His Mercy, that He is Mercy itself, and that he longs for each of us to abandon ourselves to this Mercy. Many promises were given by Him, through Faustina, to those who venerated this image of Him and prayed the chaplet that He gave to her, to be prayed on the traditional rosary beads. Her diary, which He instructed that she keep, can be read by each of us still today. In the 1500's in what is now Mexico, the Aztec religion called for the sacrificial killing of thousands of infants in the effort to control the gods of nature. It was into this culture that Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego, an Aztec native. Her appearance resulted in the conversion of millions of the nation of Aztec to Christ, and ended the killing of their infants.

The parallel to our own culture is significant and apparent: for, while the Aztec gods were those believed to control the forces of nature, the American false gods to which millions of our own infants are sacrificed are those of convenience, comfort, career, celebrity, pleasure, appearance, personal eternal youth, license, and ultimately ourselves as god. We pray now to Our Lady to convert our nation to Christ, and to help us end our evil sacrifice.

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated on December 12th. In 1999, Pope John Paul II, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe declared December 12th as a Holy Day for the whole continent of North America.

During the same visit Pope John Paul II entrusted the cause of life to her loving protection, and placed under her motherly care the innocent lives of the unborn.

of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
