HayDay Vacation Bible Camp at Rockwood FCC: Only 23 registrations available (no participation fee). At HayDay VBS, children grow in friendship with Jesus. This VBS is filled with amazing Bible learning experiences that kids see, hear and touch. Team-building games, Bible songs, and multi-sensory Bible adventures are just a few of the activities that help bring faith into real life. Your children will also participate in an outreach project called Projects-With-A-Purpose that will empower children in our community to show families the love of Jesus. HayDay runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon on July 19 and 20. Parents, grandparents and friends are invited to participate in a Sunday celebration on July 24. Events

Monumental Vacation Bible School: At the Salvation Army Downriver Corps Community Center, 1250 Biddle, Wyandotte, July 11-15, with a celebration at our Sunday Service on July 17. At Monumental, kids explore the sunny southwest desert as they dig big for love. Children participate in memorable Bible learning activities, sing upbeat songs, play team-building games, bake and devour delicious treats, experience unique Bible adventures, learn from Bible memory friends for remind them of God’s love and more. Additionally, children will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day ends with a Canyon Closing which involves everyone living what they have learned. Monumental is for children ages 5 to 14 and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Christmas in July, Happiest Event of 4 Days: Presented by Our Lady of the Scapular Parish at St. Stanislaus Kostka Site, 266 Antoine Street, Wyandotte, July 21,22,23 & 24. Preview Thursday, July 21, July 4-7 afternoon, admission $5; Friday July 22, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., free admission; Saturday 23 July, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., free entry; Sunday July 24, by ticket only. Visit the Christmas Wonderland sale of new and used Christmas items, raffles galore and international food available daily. Reservations and payment of $50 per person for the catered dinner at Frankenmuth’s Bavarian Inn Restaurant on Sunday, July 24 are now being taken at the parish office 734-284-9135 and online at ourladyofthescapular.org while supplies last. Devotions to Our Lady of Fatima: The Holy Hour with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Blessing includes the Rosary, Litanies and Readings from Sister Lucy. They take place on the 13th of each month from May to October, the anniversaries of the apparitions of Our Lady to the Children of Fatima: Saint Jacinta, Saint Francisco and the Servant of God Sister Lucia. All are invited to join us. Our Lady of the Scapular Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2609 Tenth St., Wyandotte. Devotions are: Saturday, August 13 at 6 p.m. after the 5 p.m. Mass; Tuesday, September 13 at 6 p.m. followed by mass at 7 p.m.; and Thursday, October 13 at 6 p.m. followed by the 7 p.m. mass. Mentally Ill Support Group: For relatives and friends of the mentally ill in the Downstream area, meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Dearborn First Presbyterian Church, 600 N. Brady, Mitchell Hall. Another support group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, beginning July 20, at 10 a.m. at the Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital Rehabilitation Building. on the 2nd floor, room 232. Wear a mask and enter the hospital through the main entrance for a Covid-19 check. Then you will follow the letter A on the wall signs and take the Allen elevators to the 2nd floor. Community Meals at Southpoint Church: Free hot meals for those in need on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Southpoint Church 5699 Fort Street, Trenton.

Sunday School: St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Youth, 2803 1st Street, Wyandotte, hosts Sunday School for children in kindergarten through fifth grade every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The youth group meets once a month to a community service project and a Bible lesson for students. sixth to 12th. Rockwood Pantry: Rockwood First Congregational Church, 22600 Mather Street Rockwood, hosts a toilet pantry, which provides personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, lightly used clothing, and some food items. All items are free. The pantry will be open from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the last Monday of each month. If this Monday is a public holiday, the pantry will be open the previous Monday. Downriver Women’s Social Group: Join women at Rockwood First Congregational Church, 22600 Mather Street, Thursdays, 10 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m., for conversation and friendship. Some ring crafts for working or board games/playing cards. Some arrive late or leave early, others bring a lunch bag and eat together. No contribution; No religious affiliation required. Holy Hours with Rosary Display, Divine Mercy Rosary, and Blessing: Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus the second Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. before the 7 p.m. Mass at Our Lady of the Scapular at Our Lady of the Mount Carmel, Tenth Street and Superior Blvd., Wyandotte. Everyone is invited, not just the Knights.

Food Pantry: Every Thursday, DownRiver Church hosts an Emergency Food Pantry for a day-long food supplement for individuals and families living in DownRiver communities. The pantry is open every Thursday between 10 a.m. and noon. Participants must bring their driver’s license or state-issued ID to participate. DownRiver Church is located at 14400 Beech Daly, Taylor. DownRiver Church Worship Service: Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Strict social distancing guidelines are in effect. A mask covering the mouth and nose is required to enter the building. Our Lady of the Scapular Parish: Masses are held Saturdays at 5 p.m. (streamed live on Facebook and available on YouTube), Sundays at 9 a.m. (Polish/English) and 11 a.m. (English). Masses on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday take place at 7 p.m. Friday mass is at 12 p.m. except the first Friday when it is at 7 p.m. The church is located at 976 Pope John Paul II Avenue, Wyandotte. Celebrate Recovery: Celebrate Recovery is a biblically balanced 12-step recovery program that helps people overcome hurts, blockages, and habits; it is a Christ-centered program that uses the teachings of Jesus to help individuals break free from painful life issues and addictive behaviors in a safe, anonymous, and confidential environment; the program is offered at 6 p.m. every Tuesday at Kirby Church, 2773 Will Carleton Road, Flat Rock; for more information, call 734-789-1260.

Christian Business Men’s Connection: Luncheon meeting the third Monday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. at Ramsey’s, in Trenton, 2747 Jefferson, just north of West Road. Recharge: First United Methodist Church of Flat Rock, 28400 Evergreen, hosts Recharge at 6:30 p.m. on the first, second, and fourth Wednesdays and includes songs and a short uplifting message and time for prayer; the evening is meant to help kick-start the rest of the week.
