Charlene Schomas, 91 | The Voice of LaSalle County since 1952!

Charlene Schomas, 91, of Ottawa, IL, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. The Christian Burial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30 at St. Francis of Assisi, with Reverend Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before Wednesday service at the church. Interment will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.

Charlene was born on January 27, 1931 in Ottawa, IL to Charles and Myra (Dixon) Wagner. She married Robert Schomas on September 22, 1951 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa. He died on January 9, 2009. She retired from First National Bank. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Santa Maria 236 Catholic Girls, and served as President of the Junior Catholic Girls of America.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Stahl; his granddaughter, Charlene Stahl; and her great-granddaughter, Leila Stahl. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; his grandson, Bob Stahl; his brother, Chuck Wagner and a sister, Deanie O’Connell.

The pallbearers will be his nephews, Doug Schomas, Mark Janusz, Jason Wild; his friend, Carl Summers; his granddaughter, Charlene Stahl; and her great-granddaughter, Leila Stahl. Honorary bearers will be his nephews, Steve Brenbarger and Bruce Wild; posthumously, Jerry Einhaus, and posthumously, grandson Bob Stahl
