Charles “Chuck” Clayton Casady III, 61, of Albia, died Thursday, March 17, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born on March 19, 1960 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles Clayton II and Patricia Ardith “Ardy” (Sullivan) Casady.
Chuck graduated from Albia High School, class of 1978. He married Nancy Golob on July 14, 1979 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Melrose. They were blessed with two children, Tiffany and Clayton.
He worked at Hy-Vee Wholesale for many years. He was a huge Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing basketball games, all the many farm animals they raised and especially watching his children and grandchildren in their sports and activities. Family was Chuck’s life.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Nancy Casady of Albia; children, Tiffany (Brad) DeMoss, Clayton (Emmalee) Casady; grandchildren, Hunter, Chloe, Lilly, Matty K. DeMoss, Jett and Luke Casady all of Albia; sister, Tracy Casady of Albia; brother-in-law, Mike (Paula) Golob of Washington State; and niece and nephew, Devin and Jason Golob. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Clayton II and Ardy Casady, and his father and stepmother, Pete and Lucille Golob.
A Christian Burial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Georgetown with Father Mark Yates, C.PP.S. arbitrate. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Georgetown. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, opening to the public at 2:00 p.m., with Chuck’s family in attendance from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. A Christian wake-up service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, followed by the recitation of the rosary at the funeral home. Memorials can be directed to St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Georgetown.
