August 25, 1934 – January 28, 2022
Jacquelyn (Jackie) Jollay was born in Corona, New York. She was the 2nd youngest of 6 children.
She met the love of her life Robert Jollay at a USO dance in New York and they married in 1957. In 1958 their first daughter was born and was followed by a second daughter in 1960. Little soon after, she and her family moved away. in California where she loved being a wife, mother and friend. Their third daughter was then born in the late 1960s. After being a stay-at-home mom for many years, she became a garden keeper at Forest Hill Primary School. This eventually led her to work as a student aide for children with special needs at nearby Marshall Lane Primary School, from which she retired in the 1990s. Her family grew steadily over the years. She acquired several names of affection such as “Grandma Jollay” used not only by her own grandchildren, but also by extended family and children of friends. In her later and final years, she became affectionately known as “Popcorn Jackie” by a very dear member of the family.
The children loved her and she adored them.
She is predeceased by her husband, Bob, her son-in-law, Tony Montagano and her grandson, Christopher Gonzales.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Gonzales, Linda Montagano, Laura Guillory, her sons-in-law Arthur and LeJon and her grandchildren, Alex and Michael Gonzales and Angie Capps and Damon Montagano. We all love and miss you Jackie.
