Jean Irene Lancewicz, 77, of Alpena Michigan, died April 16, 2022 in the town of Hillman Michigan. Prior to opening Golden Girls, her foster home for adults, she ran an early childhood daycare center in her home. She was an avid player, playing in many leagues with her mother Arlene, in which she hit a perfect 300 game which earned her a magnificent gold trophy. She had actively volunteered for her Catholic Church as well as in her community. She enjoyed playing Euchre with her family and friends and was a member of many Euchre groups. Our mother loved to travel to Las Vegas or any local casino with her family and friends.
Jean is survived by three daughters, Wendy and her husband, Shelly (Charles) Wyman, and Amy Martin. Mom is also survived by her sister Joan (Robert) Wojciechowski and her brother Randall (Gloria) Moore, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mom is predeceased by her parents George and Arlene Moore, her brother-in-law Robert LaLonde and her first husband and soul mate Leif ‘Tony’ Laniewski.
Visitation will be held at Karpus Hunter & Ross Funeral Home on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 1 p.m. until time of the Rosary service at 7 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 4 p.m. with the father. Michael Lingaur officiating.
