Joan Skiba, 79, of Wyoming, formerly of Alpena, was called to her heavenly home to be with her Savior, Jesus, surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
She was predeceased by her parents, Theresa and Michael Tadajewski.
She will be fondly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Ray; his daughter, Lisa (Michal) Lach; two grandchildren, Sara (Michael) Davey and Josh (Brittany) Lach; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Malachi; sister, Diane (Richard) Amlotte; brother, Mark M. Tadajewski.
Joan was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially the great-grandsons. She was a hardworking woman who was a nurse’s aide, waitress, and cleaner at the hospital. She helped Ray plan and build two houses. Joan enjoyed cooking with Josh, going for walks, reading, watching soap operas and the Hallmark channel, attending mass and praying the rosary.
Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville with Reverend Stephen Durkee presiding.
Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends can meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, and also Thursday from 10-11 a.m. before the church service.
