Rosary guide

What prayers do you say at the end of the rosary?

Most often the rosary ends with a few specific prayers, although you are also free to add your own devotions.

The Rosary is a beautiful prayer and one of the most popular devotions of the Catholic Church. It can be prayed in different ways, and many ask what is the best way to conclude the rosary.

Since the Rosary is a popular devotional prayer, it has been adapted and supplemented over the centuries. There are many different ways to conclude the Rosary, but the following prayers are a common way to end it.

Final prayers of the Rosary

At the end of the rosary, the next prayer is the Hello, Holy Queen. You can recite this prayer while holding the medal which connects the extension of the crucifix to the ring of the rosary.

I salute you, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you we cry out, poor children banished from Eve; to you we send our sighs, weeping and weeping in this vale of tears. Turn then to us, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy; and after that, our exile, show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

To conclude the Rosary, some pray the Prayer of Saint Michael.

Saint Michael Archangel, defend us in the fight, be our protection against the wickedness and the traps of the devil; God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and you, O Prince of the celestial army, by the power of God, throw Satan and all the evil spirits who roam the world in search of the ruin of souls into hell. Amen.

After any devotional prayer, many will end with the after summon.

O God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death, and resurrection, purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation; grant us to pray to you that by meditating on these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Finish the rosary by doing the sign of the cross.
